Steve Martin is quiet retiring. The 77-year-old actor has revealed that he’s not going to be actively seeking new roles when his Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, ends. “When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others,” he had told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview. “I’m not going to seek other movies.

I don’t want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it.” Later on, he clarified his initial comments. “They asked me, ‘Do you think about retirement?’ I said, ‘Well this is it.

I’m doing a television show, I’ve got a book coming out and I’m touring with [Martin Short]. That kind of is my retirement — that’s what it’s going to look like.’” he told E!

Longtime friend and co-star Martin Short then chimed in, saying that he can’t “imagine him ever retiring. I hope not, because then you know what happens to me.” If you missed it, check out the full cast list for season 3 of Only Murders in the Building, and check out the surprising role he recently had.
