Steve Kean takes charge of his first match at Melbourne Victory on Friday but could be returning to Europe next season. Former Blackburn coach Kean has been promoted from assistant to caretaker after the sacking of Scottish compatriot Grant Brebner.
Kean is taking the reins for the final six games ahead of facing the Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday. Victory have won just three of 16 matches this term and were thrashed 7-0 last weekend by A League neighbours Melbourne City.
Kean is looking to stop the rot but is not a contender to get the post full-time and could return to Europe after working for Scotland and UEFA previously as an instructor for the A Licence.
