He'll now take on four time world champion Mark Selby in the final in Lladudno, but makes his opponent the heavy favourite to lift the silverware. In a bluntly honest interview after his victory against Carter, Maguire said Carter's behaviour at the table gave him an advantage but admits that he could struggle to keep his own emotions under check in the final if things start slipping away.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: "Who knows what to expect. In hindsight Mark has probably played better than me all week, I’ve been scraping my way through just winning matches somehow.
