Steph McGovern has revealed a massive career shift after her talk show was cancelled by Channel 4. Steph, who was moved to tears during the final episode of Packed Lunch in December, is renowned for hosting other shows such as BBC Breakfast and Pocket Money Pitch.
She has now chosen to step back from the camera and embark on a completely new venture. At the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, the broadcaster announced that she has penned a novel, according to The Sun.
Steph shared: "Deadline is a book idea I've had since my early days on breakfast TV. Writing it has allowed me to spend the last few years secretly living in a parallel universe where the high-pressure, high-profile environments I've worked in, and the colourful characters I've encountered along the way, have all contributed to my own dark tale of power, corruption, and lies." "I'm thrilled to be launching the book at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival.
I've been attending this festival to stalk my favourite authors for ten years. Now to be here as an author myself is mind-boggling." Deadline will be published by Pan Fiction in July next year.
