The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland has said that it would be impossible for her queerness not to "be reflected" in the upcoming Star Wars TV series.
So far, all fans know about the Disney+ outing is that it's set to be female-centric and falls into the category of mystery-thriller, as it centres on the emergence of the Dark Side in the final days of the High Republic era.
Referencing franchise creator George Lucas' personal life, she told The Advocate: "In the same way that the original Star Wars film, A New Hope, is about a young man living in Modesto, California, who doesn't want to take over his dad's hardware store… there's just no way that me being a queer woman is not going to be reflected in my work.
