On a recent episode of BBC One's Sort Your Life Out, Stacey Solomon shared a handy two-step hack for removing yucky scents in washing machines.

Joining Kirsty, a disabled mother from Nottingham, and her partner Taureen, the TV star helped revamp their packed four-bedroom abode.

The unfortunate mum had suffered herniated discs and chronic pain following a holiday accident, reports the Mirror.Taureen shared: "Before Kirsty's injuries she had a pristine house, but they all know mum's not as sturdy on her feet and can't do as much as she used to." Hunting for smart storage solutions for the family, Iwan Carrington, a cleaning guru in the team, showed off a cheeky secret to sprucing up forgotten washing machine drawers.

After removing the drawer and exposing the mould lurking inside, he revealed: "If your washing machine is starting to smell, this could be why." Sporting cleaning gloves, Iwan slathered a generous amount of baking powder over the mould-affected sections of the drawer compartment.
