Saints striker Elly McLean feared her football career was over when she suffered a horrendous leg break on the opening day of last season.
That made being part of St Mirren Women’s historic first official squad photoshoot at the SMISA Stadium this week even sweeter.
The former Celtic forward spent the whole of last season recovering from the shock injury she sustained against Greenock Morton.
After months of painful rehab and two operations, the 22-year-old is finally nearing a return to the pitch for the Buddies. And coinciding with this year’s Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week, which kicked off on Monday, McLean revealed it was an amazing moment to be welcomed back into the squad just in time for their first official photoshoot in Paisley on Wednesday night.
