Daniel McManus returned from a serious injury to help East Kilbride reach the third round of the Scottish Cup with the biggest goal of his young career so far.The St Mirren loanee hit his head off a metal railing, knocking him out cold, during a league win over Stirling University on October 9 and, ironically, he made his comeback in time to knock the students out of the cup after netting the opener in Saturday’s 4-0 win at K-Park.It was a worrying moment for the 18-year-old earlier this month as he required a hospital trip and stitches to a head wound, but he is delighted to be back in the starting 11 after fearing the worst when he was tackled and sent thundering into a railing at Forthbank.
