St Cuthbert Wanderers manager Ian Clark said Saturday’s 13-0 defeat to Newton Stewart was “embarrassing”. Saints were 10-0 down at half-time after a mad first 45 minutes before the Creesiders added three more in the second half.

If it comes down to you getting beaten by a better team you hold your hands up. Newton Stewart are good at what they do but we were terrible. “I’ve always defended the boys in terms of their effort levels but Saturday was unacceptable.
There’s no word other than unacceptable. “It comes back to work rate that we’ve been really good at through preseason. Even against Lochar and Dalbeattie we were brilliant. “It was still 3-0 but Dalbeattie are a very good team and they’ll be up there, but I couldn’t fault the work-rate.
