An appeal has been launched after a dog was found tied to a fence in a country lane in East Ayrshire.The Scottish SPCA is seeking information after the poor pooch was dumped in the Loudoun Castle area of Galston last week.

A member of the public found the abandoned female dog just before midday on February 19 and took her to a vets' in Kilmarnock.Animal welfare inspectors say the dumped dog is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar.Scottish SPCA Inspector, Caitlin Rea, said: “The dog was found tied up to a fence on a country lane.

The dog is not microchipped and she is not wearing a collar.“She has a small wound on her leg but otherwise appears healthy.

She is now being cared for at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.
