Spotify is to hike prices by up to £24 per year for some customers, with the changes coming in for new users this week. The increases will see its Premium Family package - which allows six people in one household use the same Spotify account - go up by £2 per month from £14.99 to £16.99.

Its Premium Student package is going up by £1 per month, from £4.99 to £5.99, while its Premium Duo package will also increase by £1 per month, from £12.99 to £13.99.

The student package is for those in higher education, while the Duo subscription allows up to two people in the same household to use the same Spotify account.
