The Sound Of Music fans have complained the beloved film has been "ruined" after viewers pointed out what appeared to be a jaw-dropping clanger.

The classic film has become a Christmas staple over the years, but it's sparked a fierce debate on Twitter over a scene between Julie Andrews' character Maria and Mother Abbess, played by Peggy Wood.

In the scene, Maria goes to the abbey to plead for guidance, and is asked what she's trying to escape in the outside world. However, some viewers are convinced the elderly nun actually flings a potty-mouthed insult - saying "what is it, you c**tface?" One shared a video of the moment and wrote: "The Sound of Music is on and I still scream every time the Mother Abbess calls Julie Andrews a c**tface." Sh
