Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner has opened up about feeling like her life was "on pause" until she could reunite with loved ones after moving back to the UK.The 28 year old actress and mum of two daughters, who was previously married to musician Joe Jonas, is now navigating life post-divorce.
In a candid chat with Harper's Bazaar magazine, she shared: "Every city we ended up in, the first thing I'd do was find a British shop and stock up on a month's worth of chocolate." She also touched upon the political climate in America as a factor in her decision to leave, stating: "The gun violence, Roe v Wade being overturned...
everything just kind of piled on. I'm so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I'm not in London, with my friends and family." Reflecting on the time spent away, she said: "I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant.
I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, 'I never got to touch your belly.' We didn't have those key experiences with each other." Sophie stars as Joan in the ITVX series based on the life of Joan Hannington, a notorious British thief from the 1980s.The actress, who tied the knot with Joe in 2019 at a Las Vegas chapel, is also set to be honoured with the performance award at the Harper's Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards.
