Sophie Kasaei has opened up about her ongoing battle with endometriosis, revealing that she's set to undergo surgery to remove "painful" cysts.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, according to the NHS, and can affect women of any age.

Sophie, 32, also has ovarian cysts, and to mark Endometriosis Awareness Week, she told OK! about her surgery plans and the agony she's been living with for years. “I’m having to get surgery to get all these cysts removed. That’s a big factor of my life and looking after myself because of everything I’ve got going on with the cysts,” she told us.

Sophie went on: “I really want to try get more awareness out there because it can affect fertility, sex can be painful, and I get painful periods. “Growing up, I used to have these severe periods when I had my other jobs, and I was so scared to say anything that I’d just sit there in pain. The pain wasn’t normal, it was never normal.
