Sony Pictures Promotes Ashley Marks To SVP Casting
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Sony Motion Picture Group has elevated Ashley Marks to SVP, Casting. Marks joined the studio in 2021 and has overseen casting for Sony Motion Picture Group’s labels including Columbia Pictures, 3000 Pictures.
Her most recent title was VP of Casting. She will report to Sanford Panitch, President of Sony’s Motion Picture Group. Recent films Marks worked on include the studio’s summer hit, Bad Boys: Ride or Die ($400.2M), the Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell romantic comedy hit, Anyone But You ($220.2M), Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire ($201.8M), the Jennifer Lawrence R-rated comedy No Hard Feelings and The Equalizer 3 ($191M WW).
Prior to Sony Pictures, Marks worked with McCarthy / Abellera Casting on films by Lord & Miller, Working Title, Likely Story and Judd Apatow as well as TV series by Lorne Michaels, Paul Feig, Sam Esmail, Elizabeth Banks, BJ Novak and Rob McElhenney.
Marks began her career at Telsey and Company where she went on to work for 5th House Casting, among others before finding her position with McCarthy / Abellera Casting.
