A son threatened to "cut dad's throat" in a vicious row over a £50,000 will. Darren Miles, 53, thought he was entitled to the money and a share of the family home after the death of his mother.
But a court heard Miles flipped when he discovered the estate would pass directly to his 76-year-old father, John Miles, who was still alive.
And in a chilling letter he sent his sister Sharon, Miles said he wanted to "batter" their dad. The note said: “Dad’s getting battered by me when I see him. “I’m thinking of cutting Dad’s throat, Shaz.
Dad’s going to get a good hiding from me.” Miles admitted sending a threatening letter with intent to cause distress. However, a judge at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday spared Miles immediate jail.
