Lockerbie bomber has vowed to take the fight to clear his father’s name to the highest court in the UK after Scottish judges refused the family permission to continue their legal battle.
The family of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi say he was the victim of a miscarriage of justice when he was convicted of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, which killed 270 people in December 1988.
Ali al-Megrahi said the decision of the The Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh closed a “shameful chapter” on the Scottish justice system and described his father as “the 271st victim of Lockerbie”.
