'Someone came storming in, masked up, with a gun' - Shock as armed robber bursts into Halifax bank
manchestereveningnews.co.ukShoppers have spoken of their shock after a masked robber 'armed with a gun' burst into a bank in Middleton town centre. Officers responded to the incident at the Halifax bank on Middleton Gardens at around 9.20am today (August 14) after police were called to reports of a robbery.
GMP said no one has been arrested following the incident and no injuries were reported. Witnesses who saw the attempted robbery said they saw a man, who appeared to be holding a firearm, run towards the car park after leaving the bank.
Jack Green, who works at the BetFred next door to the bank, said he had arrived at his shift ten minutes after the robbery and heard from his colleagues who had seen what happened. He then ran away towards the car park behind the high street. I don’t know if he got away with anything though.” Other witnesses told the M.E.N.
