Two months ago a vital facility which had served generations in the heart of Salford was destroyed by arsonists. No one has been arrested or charged despite the cost of the damage being several million pounds.

But the City Mayor has now made a direct appeal to those who know the identity of the culprits as GMP revealed that they have closed the inquiry.
