From 51 material international box office markets, the update of the classic 1937 animation grossed an estimated $44.3M.
Both domestic and overseas returns are below pre-weekend projections. In like-for-like offshore markets at today’s rates (and excluding China), the bow is 16% below Cinderella, 19% under Dumbo and 33% off of The Little Mermaid.
The Rachel Zegler-starrer opened as the No. 1 or No. 1 non-local title in the majority of major overseas markets as well as all smaller ones.
