It may be the first day of meteorological spring, but don’t put away that big coat just yet as Greater Manchester could still see some snow next week.

After a reasonable February with above average temperatures, the mercury is set to plummet once more as March kicks off with a chilly start.

Over the next few days the weather is expected to remain overcast with the occasional shower, although it will feel rather cold.

Highs of 8C are forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with lows of 3C predicted, according to the Met Office. At the weekend things will turn a little cooler in Greater Manchester.
