‘SNL’ returning to air with original content this weekend

nypost.comIs it Saturday yet? The creators of “Saturday Night Live” have announced that the sketch show will return with fresh material this weekend, Deadline reported, despite social distancing orders due to the coronavirus.
Exactly how Lorne Michaels, the show’s 17 cast members and dozens of crew members plan to pull this off has yet to be revealed.
They have confirmed the new episode will indeed be broadcast from remote locations, including “Weekend Update,” hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che.
Che, 36, recently announced the loss of his grandmother, who died from the disease earlier this week. According to Deadline, there had been discussions that the segment might return to air on it’s own, in the vein of Lorne Michaels’ other late night shows,
