‘SNL’ Promo: Lady Gaga Draws Cast Into Her Rather Humiliating Musical Process

In this week’s promo for Saturday Night Live, a bespectacled, dressed down Gaga — who will be both host and musical guest Saturday — sits at a piano in the SNL offices, performing musical improvisations that comment on various cast members passing through.
It’s her “process.” First comes Andrew Dismukes, whose mid-afternoon order of a breakfast sandwich gets a lyric. Then Devon Walker, who is “taking a big swing” with a new cowboy-style hat.
But the payoff comes when a sleepy-eyed, pajama-wearing Heidi Gardner emerges from her dressing room and finally reveals why she’s been spending nights there.
Gaga gets the crescendo she’s been waiting for. The March 8 episode marks Gaga’s second time pulling double duty as host and musical guest.
