‘Smurfs’ Trailer: First Footage Of Rihanna’s Smurfette
deadline.comRihanna introduces the first trailer for Paramount Animation’s upcoming musical film Smurfs, only fitting since her character Smurfette is front and center in the trailer released today by Paramount.
Based on the characters and works of Peyo, written by Pam Brady and directed by Chris Miller, Smurfs hits theaters July 18. Along with Rihanna the voice cast includes James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña with Kurt Russell and John Goodman.
The synopsis: When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him.
With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. Producing are Jay Brown, Ty Ty Smith, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, Ryan Harris.
