Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell has sadly died at the age of 56, as fans of the rock band have shared an outpouring of tributes for the band and the star's family.
Steve passed away on Monday morning, September 4, after suffering from liver failure.The rock star had been residing in a hospice receiving palliative care.
Sharing the sad news with The Mirror, Steve's manager Robert Hayes said: "Steve Harwell passed away this morning September 4, 2023 at his home in Boise Idaho. "He was surrounded by family and friends and passed peacefully and comfortably." The musician retired from Smash Mouth two years ago, but the band continued with Zach Goode in his place.They were best known for their 1997 hit Walkin' On The Sun as well chart-topping record All Star which was nominated for a Grammy award and featured in the opening credits to the movie Shrek.
Robert added that Steve's "legacy will live on through music" and he "loved the fans and loved to perform". This is a breaking news story and is being updated in real time.
