Sludge metal legends Acid Bath to reunite after 28 years for Sick New World festival

Their newly announced performance at the Las Vegas festival – set to take place on April 12 2025 – will mark the band’s first show in 28 years.Acid Bath formed in 1991 and released two albums in their lifespan: 1994’s ‘When the Kite String Pops’ and ‘Paegan Terrorism Tactics’ in 1996.

They broke up in 1997 when bassist Audie Pitre and his parents were killed in a car crash by a drunk driver.The reunion will include three of the band’s founding members, with lead singer Dax Riggs, guitarist Sammy ‘Pierre’ Duet and guitarist Mike Sanchez on board.

They’ll be joined by drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron. Founding keyboardist Tommy Viator died earlier this year.Sharing the news on Instagram, Riggs wrote “The Bath will return April 12, 2025 at Sick New World Festival.

Our heads are literally EXPLODING! We’ll be playing select songs from our two full length LPs.
