Slipknot‘s Sid Wilson is recovering at home after being hospitalized for “serious” burns sustained during a bonfire accident.
In a series of Instagram Live videos posted to his social media account yesterday, the DJ and keyboard musician assured fans he was going to be “all right” as he updated viewers on his journey. “I had an explosion in my face,” he said in the first five-minute clip. “I’m OK, I’m gonna be OK, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.” In the self-facing video, he shows close-up shots of his “singed” eyebrows, “blistered” mouth and arms, which he said received the brunt of the flames. “Ouch,” he captioned the video simply.
In a statement posted to the heavy metal band’s page, Slipknot wrote, “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body.
He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.” Wilson’s first video shows medical personnel talking him through deep breaths.
