Sky’s Jo Wilson’s ‘perfect’ lowkey honeymoon - 9pm bedtime and quality time with daughter

While some newlyweds might jet off to a tropical paradise or enjoy a whirlwind trip to Paris, TV presenter Jo Wilson had a very different kind of honeymoon in mind.

The Sky Sports presenter, who received a shock diagnosis of stage 3 cervical cancer this summer, opted to spend just a few days away, not too far from her Cotswolds home, after tying the knot with partner Dan in a beautiful wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall, covered exclusively by OK!.

And they had one very special guest accompanying them on their chilled mini-moon - their adorable daughter Mabel, two. "We didn’t want to go too far," explains Jo, 38, who only completed her chemotherapy treatment just over three weeks prior to her special day. "I’m still not feeling great so we kept it lowkey for three nights." Recalling those precious few days away with her new husband and daughter, following the ceremony, Jo tells us: "Dan, Mabel and I stayed at The Newt in Somerset, a gorgeous Georgian country manor.

We managed some walks around the grounds, had some nice food and relaxed in the spa. Sounds boring but it was just what I needed. "Bed by 9pm has become the new norm." The newlyweds found a lot of joy in their new titles, too: "We woke up in the morning and said, 'Hey hubby, hey wife' which made us smile." But she admits that having her wedding and honeymoon on top of her gruelling treatment has left her feeling "pretty wiped out." "I’m surviving on afternoon naps, but it’s improving.
