As she steps on to the hallowed turf of Croke Park, dressed in a glamorous red jumpsuit and skyscraper heels, GAA presenter Grainne McElwain couldn’t be happier.
The departure of Rachel Wyse from the Sky Sports team meant there was an open goal for Grainne to land the job of her dreams.
And this impressive Gaeilgeoir and traditional musician is certainly a role model for all the young women who want to be involved in sport in Ireland.
She admits that she’s in an area traditionally considered a man’s world but happily things are changing. ‘I have been lucky,’ she says of her career as a sports broadcaster. ‘I never felt uncomfortable in a room full of men and I have never been made feel uncomfortable when talking or voicing opinions.’ Grainn
