Mikel Arteta has done a fine job since taking over at Arsenal. Since leaving Manchester City the Spaniard has guided the Gunners to FA Cup and Community Shield glory.
He's done good work off the pitch too. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing a new deal at the Emirates is a huge testament to how the club is currently working and what direction he sees it going in.
But one area that shouldn't be overlooked is his ruthlessness. Arteta has not been afraid to come down hard on some players - with many left out in the cold.
In fact, Arteta sanctioned the exits of two players this summer - and at the start of the season they were among the least likely to go.
