William Earl administrator The studio behind “Saw” is celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary by scaring the hell out of fans in person.
Six Flags, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures shared the first images of this year’s new Fright Fest maze, “Saw: Legacy of Terror,” with Variety.
Although this is the second year with a “Saw” maze, this enhanced experience celebrates the legacy of all the films. Six Flags’ “Chief Fright Officer” Edithann Ramey, the CMO of the company, said the maze will provide a uniquely scary experience.
Guests will have interactive moments in rooms like “The Workshop” and “The Control Room” that make the maze feel specifically tailored for maximum frights. “I always say I like people to feel like they’ve stepped into the movie,” she said. “‘Saw’ fans will not only enjoy a scary experience but there are also easter eggs from throughout the series that pop up in the maze that enhance the experience.” For the merch-minded, there is also custom-designed apparel available at the end of the maze, from the blood-splattered shirts that genre fanatics crave to more lighthearted trinkets that speak to fans of the series’ lighter moments, like franchise mascot Billy the Puppet.
