The late, great Sir Michael Parkinson's funeral went ahead this week, in front of 90 of the TV interviewer's nearest and dearest.

Lovingly referred to as 'Parky' throughout his career, Michael sadly passed away aged 88 last month, surrounded by his wife Lady Mary and their three sons Michael Jr, Nicholas and Andrew at the family's Berkshire home.

According to the The Sun, a cricket cap sat on his coffin alongside a red and white Barnsley FC scarf - the football team he was a lifelong supporter of - before the funeral service unfolded at St Michael's Church in Bray.

The melodic crooning of Frank Sinatra came from the speakers as mourners paid their final respects.Then, after the church, friends and family headed to Michael's local, The Hind's Head pub, which was reportedly guarded by two doormen. "It was a very dignified send-off for a man who remained understated and classy to the end.
