Sir Elton John named most iconic celebrity glasses-wearer of all time, study finds
msn.comAhead of his farewell headline gig at Glastonbury Festival this weekend, Elton John has been recognised with another honour - being named the most iconic glasses wearer of all time.
The "Rocket Man" and "Your Song" hitmaker topped a poll of 2,000 Brits after wowing fans with his extravagant eyewear during his illustrious career, which has already spanned more than five decades.
Funny man Alan Carr claimed the second spot with his thick black frames - and he was followed by Dennis Taylor, whose giant, half-rimmed snooker specs stunned crowds in the Crucible.
Meanwhile Black Eyed Peas rapper, and The Voice judge, Will. i. Am, also made the top five. Former tennis pro Billie Jean King, who sported glasses on Centre Court at Wimbledon as she stormed to victory a record 20 times, also placed in the top 10.
