Andy Murray has admitted that he found Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired outbursts during his first-round win in the Australian Open win 'incredibly irritating'.
The 36-year-old's infamous "SIU" celebration has become synonymous with the Manchester United attacker and recent trends on social media platforms have led to it being used outside the confines of football stadiums.
The inception of the celebration, of course, originated from when the Portugal international scored a goal, he reels off to the corner flag and performs the celebration to an ensemble of SIU's from supporters.
But it isn't just the former British number one who has found the crossover of football into tennis exasperating with fellow star Nick Kyrios joining in on the complaints. "I think it's like 'Siuu' or something that Ronaldo does when he scores," Murray said speaking after his five-set win over Nikoloz Basilashvili. "And, yeah, it was incredibly irritating (smiling).
