Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his biggest signing regret at Manchester United was narrowly missing out on Paul Gascoigne. The Red Devils attempted to sign the England international in 1988 when he was at Newcastle but the midfielder would eventually join Tottenham.
Ferguson reckons Gascoigne was the best English player since Bobby Charlton but believes he made a huge mistake joining Spurs as United could have got the best out of him with the likes of Bryan Robson taking him under his wing.
The Old Trafford legend admitted it was a sore one to take however as he spoke to Gary Neville in an interview for LADbibleTV.
