Sir Alex Ferguson has arrived at Manchester Crown Court to give evidence in the trial of former United star Ryan Giggs. He was pictured by press photographers at Crown Square this afternoon.

It comes after the jury heard Mr Giggs' girlfriend penned a letter titled 'the final goodbye' branding him a 'compulsive liar' and a 'serial cheat'.

The letter was read on the 10th day of the former Manchester United star's trial. He denies headbutting Kate Greville and elbowing her sister Emma during an incident at his home in Worsley on November 1, 2020.

Mr Giggs also denies behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards his ex between August 2017 and November 2020. Jurors earlier heard hundreds of messages which the couple exchanged during their relationship.
