Bob Geldof has revealed he was in contact with fellow Irish star Sinead O’Connor in the weeks leading up to her death last week.
The musician, 71, was a close pal to the Nothing Compares To U singer over the years. The Boomtown Rats frontman said that some of her messages were excited and full of hope for the future, but some were full of “sorrow and despair”.
Sinead’s death was announced on Wednesday evening after police were called to her home in south east London that morning following reports she was “unresponsive”.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her family made the sad announcement that night, sparking a flood of tributes across the globe from fans and friends.
