Sinead, 56, who reached the dizzy heights of fame in 1990 following the huge success of her hit single Nothing Compares To You, wrote a lengthy letter to Miley, now 30, over her concerns for the young star.
At the time the American singer was appearing to go off the rails with her on stage antics and heavy partying, and Sinead felt compelled to reach out.
She penned "nothing but harm will come in the long run from allowing yourself to be exploited." At that time Miley had told Rolling Stone magazine that her nude appearances in the video of Wrecking Ball was inspired by Sinead's famous song - and she was not impressed.
