SimplyBe’s £17 smoothing bodysuit is an affordable alternative to SKIMS’ £68 shapewear

Whether you love it or hate it, shapewear is one of those things that no wardrobe is complete without. Although it used to be known as a wildly uncomfortable or restrictive item we all dreaded wearing, lately it’s had something of a revamp, with plenty of brands offering softer, stretchier designs that feel more like a second skin that don’t require a workout to get them on.

One of the latest shaping pieces to hit the market – and catch our eye – is SimplyBe’s MAGISCULPT Light Control Smoothing Vest Bodysuit, £17 here, which launched this month at the size-inclusive retailer.The smoothing bodysuit helps sculpt and shape your figure whilst being comfortable enough to wear all day, with a design that rivals some of the top shapewear brands around.

The new range comes in a variety of styles, but the vest version particularly piqued our interest, not least because it looks very similar to Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS The Smoothing Seamless Stretch-Woven Thong body, £68 here.

Both pieces have a square neckline and broad straps to give you a seamless look and can be worn underneath a variety of clothing or on their own as a basic top.
