DIY is not easy for everyone, with putting shelves or fixing up frames sometimes easier said than done, but one carpenter has come to the rescue of anyone who has recently bought a mirror with a handy trick that can save your walls.Huge frames and heavy mirrors can be a nuisance to properly put up, with nails, screws and fix-ins all leaving your wall permanently damaged which can cause a whole host of issues - especially for renters.

To save you having to pay a handyman or that awkward phone call to your dad, Darryn Teichmann, from Aberdeenshire, has a handy tip only involves a spirit level, a few screws and a pencil.Posting the video to his Instagram the carpenter said: "This is just a little trick on how to put your mirror on the middle of the wall.

Mark the middle of your wall first, then mark the middle of the mirror and just put a little mark on your level roughly in the middle so you can see it."He then puts the spirit level against the mirror and marks down where the fittings are on the back of the wood.

Moving the level onto the wall he then marks exactly where each fitting will be, and drill four screws into the wall meaning the screws will be perfectly lined up.The next step is the most difficult, gently lift the mirror or frame up, getting all the fittings to properly hang on the screws and "saves you doing all your dodgy measurements" Darryn added: "Saves you trying to measure it and get the holes wrong.
