Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson says his Corrie co-stars find it ‘highly amusing’ that he’s going on I’m A Celebrity, and dubbed it highly likely that they will vote for him to take part in the show’s gruesome Trials.

It was announced on Wednesday 24 November that Simon would be heading into the Castle, where the likes of Richard Madeley, Naughty Boy, Frankie Bridge and Matty Lee are already putting up with the Wales' harsh winter conditions.

Speaking ahead of his I’m A Celeb debut on Thursday 25 November, Simon admitted that he’d once vowed to never go on the show.

He said: “It was common knowledge I would never do I’m A Celebrity, but my wife and kids were like, ‘Come on Si, you’ve got to do it, you will have fun.’ And so, I’ve said.
