Simon Cowell Will No Longer Be a Judge on 'X Factor Israel'

Simon Cowell will no longer appear as a judge on The X Factor Israel. The 61-year-old reality TV star, who signed a deal to be one of the judges on the upcoming season of the Israeli version of the long-running music competition series set to film this summer, is backing out of the deal, Variety reported Sunday (May 30).

A spokesperson for the production company Reshet confirmed the news, saying he cancelled “for his own reasons.” It was not made clear if Simon will still be involved in any way with the show.

Previously, the production company confirmed that Simon‘s camp had reached out with “legitimate concerns” over his participation in the show after the recent violence between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
