Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell's American accent leaves chat show viewers aghast

Simon Cowell startled American’s with an atrocious attempt at doing a Texan accent. The 61-year-old business mogul was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson show – with the BGT judge and 39-year-old host Kelly taking turns to imitate each others’ accent.

Interviewing Simon on her sofa, Kelly reflected on recently filling in on his judging seat on America’s Got Talent after Simon was forced to drop out due to an injury.

During her time on AGT, Kelly attempted to imitate Simon by saying some of his catch phrases with a generic British accent – offering: “I don’t like it, I love it” and “what the bloody hell was that?” Kelly confused she has “the worst British accent in the entire universe”.
