Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell will be forced to miss Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals for the first time ever. The 60-year-old is unable to watch the acts live and judge accordingly, due to a clash with the US version of the TV show.

The chaotic clash has been caused by Covid-19, and will force Simon to tune in via video link from America, according to The Sun.

The telly judge hopes to be back in the UK for the show's final later in October. A source told the outlet: “Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi- finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show."
