What started as judges Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, and Simon Cowell all critiquing auditions in a small room soon turned into contestants having to try out for the show in huge arenas, with regular guest judges brought in.
But Simon reckons that viewers lost interest in the show due to it losing some of its original identity over the years. He told OK!: "I'm not sure when but it be great to have it back. “I think it would be taken back to basics.
