Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

The X Factor boss suffered back injuries and required surgery after falling off an electric bike while testing it out at his Malibu, California home on Saturday.
Despite having an operation, Simon, 60, is said to be making big strides in quite literally getting back on his feet. ‘He’s in good spirits and knows he had a lucky escape and that this could have been worse,’ a source told the Mail Online. ‘He’s doing really well considering everything. ‘He’s been walking around already, obviously he has to be careful, which is expected considering surgery was only one day.
