Should landlords be more lenient over pets?

Pet ownership across the UK is more popular than ever, with over half of households currently having at least one animal companion following a big boom over the Covid pandemic.

But for many people renting across the country, finding a property which has a landlord willing to be cooperative over pets can be a difficult task.

As a result, we want to know if you think landlords should be more lenient over allowing tenants to have pets. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section. This week saw a story about a woman who ended up having to fork out £4,500 on Airbnbs over two months after a struggling to find a property that would allow pets back in 2020.

Legislation has since come into place recently though which means that landlords can no longer put a blanket ban on pets, and that the default position is that pets will be allowed.
