Should fireworks be banned in Scotland? Let us know your thoughts as New Year's approaches

With Hogmanay approaching, we're likely to hear some fireworks through the evening. While most New Year's Eve fireworks are carried out by professionals, some like to set off their own displays.

However, with fireworks has come problems in the past, especially if they get into the wrong hands. Earlier this year riot cops had to take to the streets in Dundee after youngsters let off pyrotechnics.

The Government strengthened fireworks regulation this year, with proxy buying for under-18s now considered to be a criminal offence.

But some think that regulations don't go far enough, and that fireworks should be banned outright for everyone besides professionals.We previously asked whether fireworks should be banned ahead of Bonfire Night.
