Shocking moment elderly driver has near miss after mounting pavement in Oban

A reckless driver has been filmed dodging a head-on collision after mounting a pavement and swerving onto the wrong side of the road in Oban.

Eye-witnesses captured the terrifying moment, which happened on George Street and involved a white 4x4, at 3.10pm on Wednesday.

Shocking footage shows the motorist driving through the street at speed before mounting the pavement at a junction.After crossing the pavement, the 4x4 drives directly onto the wrong side of the road and into the face of oncoming traffic before the brakes are slammed.

A van coming towards the vehicle is also seen coming to an abrupt halt before the driver is filmed swerving back onto the left-hand side of the road.They are then spotted zooming recklessly on top of another pavement before undertaking a car in front.
