The 17-year-old walked away from the scene, heading past a row of houses with "blood pouring down his face" as he held his injuries.
A trail of blood along the pavement shows how far he made it before someone called for help, and the boy was taken to hospital.
Whilst a police helicopter was scrambled, and a large cordon was put in place along Queensway and Rake Lane, neighbours were left in shock at the scene before them.
